Set up around the remains of the Bronze Age village discovered in 1929, the museum tells a story that began around 4,000 years ago on the shores of Lake Ledro. A journey back in time, from the pile dwellings themselves to the people who once lived here, at one of the most important UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Alps.
During your visit, you can explore original archaeological finds, reconstructed dwellings and the archaeological site, and learn more about the community that lived on these shores between 2200 and 1350 BC. Since 2011, Ledro has formed part of the Prehistoric Pile Dwellings around the Alps, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
It is the principal museum of ReLED, the Ledro Valley museum network.
The building has obtained Gold level LEED® eco-sustainability certification.
