Thanks to interactive exhibits, original gear and equipment – including a compact sitting volleyball court and a floor curling rink, training equipment and research tests – you will understand how athletes prepare for Olympic competitions. You can learn about their stories, touch their gear, try out training equipment, and see Paralympic technology up close, such as hand bikes and prostheses used in track and field events. You can discover and experiment with the principles behind various disciplines, learn about the studies that experts carry out on the performance of champions and athletes, which, by applying scientific methods, enable them to improve their records, as well as the psychological preparation that leads to the competition. As well as providing a scientific perspective on sport and promoting awareness of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) by demonstrating their applications in sport, one section of the exhibition highlights the importance of adopting good daily habits. When combined with a healthy lifestyle, these habits are effective in maintaining physical well-being.
