The Third Italian War of Independence and the First World War both left their mark on the Ledro Valley. In 1866, the Battle of Bezzecca was fought here. Around fifty years later, the valley became a war zone once again.
At the museum in Bezzecca and on nearby Colle Santo Stefano, you can explore the stories behind these events.
Objects, maps and documents tell the story of the Battle of Bezzecca, Garibaldi’s famous reply “Obbedisco” (“I obey”) and the First World War. The museum has two floors: the ground floor covers the Italian unification period, while the first floor is dedicated to the First and Second World Wars.
On the hill, you can walk along paths and trenches dating from the First World War and visit the small church that houses the military ossuary.
The outdoor paths and trenches are accessible throughout the year.
