Water Flow

Water, art, science, humanity

Water Flow

The Water Flow exhibition, brought to life through the collaboration between MUSE and Mart, explores the theme of water by bringing art and science together in dialogue. The exhibition is part of the S+T+ARTS Aqua Motion programme and reflects on natural systems, resource management, and the relationship between humanity and the environment.

Building on scientific data, the artists’ works establish an osmotic connection with water, engaging in dialogue with a selection of modern and contemporary pieces from the Mart heritage collection, as well as important public and private collections.

The exhibition route spreads across the two floors of the Palazzo and offers a cross-cutting perspective on the relationship between art, nature and knowledge, showing how artists from different eras have interpreted and represented the relationship between human communities and water.

With works by: Costantino Armani, Mandy Barker, Bartolomeo Bezzi, Carl Chun, Jan Dibbets, Fortunato Depero, J Henry Fair, Ernst Haeckel, Kirsten Justesen, Camillo Kier, Francesco Jodice, Mimmo Jodice, Andrea Malfatti, William Metcalf, Richard Allen Morris, Asako Narahashi, Serse Roma, Alberto Savinio, Luigi Stoisa, Superflex, Ettore Spalletti, Bill Viola.
