A project room that focuses on water as a vital resource and the challenges surrounding its management, protection, and future: discover the initial developments of the three artist residencies hosted by MUSE as part of the European project S+T+ARTS AQUA MOTION.
Get to the heart of an international creative process that weaves together artistic practices, scientific knowledge, technology, and a deep engagement with the local context. Through prototypes, research materials, and works in progress, explore the initial developments in the projects by Salomé Bazin, Micol Grazioli, and David Rickard.
The S+T+ARTS Aqua Motion Project Room presents works developed in response to the challenges identified by the Water Innovation Lab, a collaborative initiative that brings together expertise from academia, public governance, the environment, communities, and the business sector.
Having been at work since October 2025, the artists are giving shape to their projects. Salomé Bazin, with “Waterbodies”, is working on water quality monitoring from a One Health perspective that recognizes the interdependence between human health, ecosystem health, and water health. Micol Grazioli addresses the theme of water collection in the Alps through her horizontal sculpture “The Rain Paths”, exploring the retreat of glaciers, changes in precipitation, and the need for new forms of resilience. David Rickard, with his work “The River’s Voice”, explores the theme of living with water, examining the relationship between communities, cities, rivers, and lakes.
