Festival Opening Event | When Gesture Becomes Knowledge

The dialogue between contemporary circus and museum science outreach opens up new forms of experience and storytelling. Through the body, movement, and the opening of emotional channels, the circus makes science communication immersive and participatory, facilitating the communication of scientific concepts. Science, in turn, offers the circus new content, imagery, and questions: natural phenomena become dramatic material, physical principles suggest new expressive possibilities, and the rigor of scientific observation enriches the artists’ creative process. Words and performance with the participation of Massimo Bernardi, Samuela Caliari, Adolfo Rossomando, and Pietro Olla. Teatro Random will present the festival’s first highlight, “Touchmusic,” where objects in constant rotation trace impossible trajectories amid bounces, crazy balances, and comical mishaps.
