The first half of the 16th century was a period in which mechanical ingenuity and technological innovation profoundly influenced the economy, society and the environment. The exhibition takes you on a journey of discovery through the many, often ambivalent, implications of these profound changes.
From the invention of printing to astronomical exploration, from maps to everyday objects, from medicine to agriculture: a thematic itinerary through the rooms of the Palazzo delle Albere, where original objects, rare volumes and ancient instruments tell centuries-old stories of transformation, innovation and resistance.
The temporary exhibition is part of the Euregio Museum Year 2025 programme, created to mark the 500th anniversary of the Tyrolean peasant uprisings. A year of cultural initiatives, organised by over 70 institutions in the three territories, to reflect on the role of technology in the construction of modern societies and the tensions it has generated, both yesterday and today.
