Travel and accommodation


​Trento is easy to reach thanks to its central position between the Southern Alps and the Po and Veneto plains in North Italy.
The A22 Brennero-Modena motorway (autostrada) connects Germany and Austria to north Italy and runs through the whole province. Trento can be reached in 3hrs 30min from Munich (337 km) and in 2hrs from Innsbruck (176 km). A22 Brenner motorway Exits: Trento Sud.

Trento is easily accessible by train from Verona (1 hour), southern Germany (4 h), Austria (3 h), Milan (3 h), Rome (4 h). Numerous trains connect daily Trento with the main Italian cities, Innsbruck (Austria) and Munich (Germany). For timetables and connection details, please check:

The nearest airports are:

Venezia Airport "Marco Polo" (163 Km).
The airport offers over a thousand weekly flight connections to the main Italian and European cities. A city bus connects the airport to the train station in Mestre. Eight car rental companies are present within the airport. Trento can be reached in about 2 hours by car via the motorways (A4 to Verona and then A22 northwards) or the SS47 Valsugana national road from Cittadella.

Verona Airport "Valerio Catullo" (90 Km).
It is the closest large airport to Trentino. Trento can then be reached by car in about an hour on the A22 motorway. There are daily flight connections with Rome, Palermo, Catania, Cagliari, Bari, Naples as well as with other main European cities. It is serviced by major airlines such as Alitalia, Air Italy, Air France, British Airways and Meridiana Fly. An aerobus shuttle service to train station in Verona is available every day of the week leaving every twenty minutes from the airport. Several car-rental companies are also present in the airport.

Bolzano "Dolomiti" (57 Km).
Hosts flights to and from Rome operated by the regional airline Air Alps (in summer there are additional flights to and from Olbia, Sardinia).

Sacbo (180 km)
This is the main Italian hub for low cost airlines. The airport is connected to Bergamo, Milano, Brescia and Monza with bus services and also hosts numerous car rental companies. Trentino is reached in 1hr 50min by car via the A4 and A22 motorways.

Linate and Malpensa
The Milan airports are also worth pointing out: Linate (223 Km, national and short European flights) and Malpensa (265 Km, intercontinental flights).
