Doctor in Natural Sciences with a Post-Graduate specialization in Nature Conservation and Ecological Planning of the Territory. Curator Manager of Vertebrate Zoology at MUSE since 1995, he leads and/or coordinates studies and research projects into: distribution, ecology of vertebrates in the Alps (fauna Atlases, Monitoring, Census), intensive studies of the local and Alpine population, conservation and management.
He participates in monitoring programs of endangered species, an indicator of environmental quality (diurnal and nocturnal raptors; BIODIVERSITA Project; LIFE + TEN) and the migration of birds through the Alps (Alpi Project).
He contributes in PAT monitoring programs to document and conserve biodiversity (Natura 2000 network, Forests and Agriculture) and wildlife planning (fauna Plan PAT; Ecological Network PAT).
He is part of the operating team of the LIFE Wolfalps Project, which started in 2013.
He is the author and/or co-author of a hundred scientific divulgations and popular publications.
