​​​​​​​​​​ Zoologist and Conservation Biologist, I graduated in 1995 with an Eco-Ethological Thesis in Natural Sciences (University of Florence) and in 2000, I obtained a PhD in Animal Ecology (Bangor University, UK).
Since 2002, I've been working on monitoring and conserving biodiversity projects in areas of rainforest mountain in Tanzania.
The focus of my research is the quantitative ecology of forest mammals, designed with advanced methods including camera trapping. I've been working at MUSE since 2003: I've been a Curator at the Section of Tropical Biodiversity since 2008,and I've coordinated the Centre for Ecological Monitoring Udzungwa Mountains since 2006.
I am the author of more than 70 scientific articles, 40 of which are ISI.
