Meet your neighbours…but, who are these neighbours?

The exhibition "Meet your neighbours" displays images of the italian naturalist and photographer Emanuele Biggi: 41 large format images which express the desire to link people again to the “wild” nature, that is just a stone's throw from home.

The photographer’s eye fixes in a click the life of all the small animals which lie immediately around us, which live in our gardens and of which we often ignore the existence.
Italian and foreign species are portrayed on white background, on which subjects are temporarily positioned and immediately released. These creatures and plants are essential elements: they represent the first contact that we have with the natural world.
Walking through the exhibition wakes the desire of “meeting our neighbours”.

The international project Meet Your Neighbours™ starts in 2009 as a photographers and naturalists’ movement interested in showing the beauty that lies immediately around us. It started as an open source project. In order to be part of it, it is not necessary to be a professional photographer.
It resembles the concept of “citizen scientist”, or more precisely to the one of “citizen documentarist”, except that the photographic standard has to be a high quality level.

EmanueleBiggi is a naturalist and photographer, co-anchor of the television broadcast program “Geo” (Rai 3).

Ringraziamenti dell'Autore
